New Website, New Blog

Today I'm early launching my new website and blogging platform at http://lupiesoft.com/ From now on you can expect me to start posting there for everything, and in the next couple weeks I'll be shutting this blog down for the most part. Saving it's posts for antiquity but turning my entire focus to my new website.

Thanks everyone, and see you over there!

Kickstarter Successfully Funded by 300%

The Kickstarter is over, and we've achieved over 300% of our initial funding amount! It's been an amazing achievement, not only for me, but for the team. It's been a confirmation of the idea of Dizzy Hearts, when before it was doubtful it would get as popular as it has. Since I put it up in February, the demo has been downloaded over 2000 times across all websites it was available. It raised over 16k and it funded the second game in the series "Vagabond ~ The Sail in the Desert"

From here I continue. I have music and singers to pay for, volunteers who've given me their help I plan to pay and commission for future work, I have programming and website costs to cover. That all translates into the final game. I have the money to afford new RAM (given that the backgrounds you see were drawn with only 4gb of RAM, it's quite shocking they turned out so well. But that was with the prayer that my computer will survive to save every couple minutes) I now can work on Vagabond have Dizzy Hearts has finished, almost immediately after it's complete. I have in a lot of respects already have, by beginning with outlining the story for Vagabond.

It's all thanks to fans of the game who've come out to support it when the project got off it's feet.

Through development I will continue to use Kickstarter to talk to backers, and posting on this blog. However in the next few weeks I'll be phasing this blog out entirely. With the expectation that next month I will put a redirect to my new website.

Official Site:
www.lupiesoft.com

Official Twitter:

There I plan to have an active forum and comment section, information on every character that appears in any of my games. News, a store and more to improve the visiting experience. Because while Blogger has been good to me so far, I've found it wanting in terms of flexibility, design and features.

That said, thank you all for supporting Dizzy Hearts and Studio Lupiesoft! I couldn't do it without you!

VA Auditions

As promised, we hit 11k and so several key scenes in the game will receive voice acting.

So because of that I'm going to be opening auditions to hire voice actors onto the project. At this point we can only hire VAs for Seriva and Mercilia.

Here's how it works.

My contact information is:
Taosym@gmail.com

Subject is:
VA audition

I will be paying voice actors $2/per line.
The amount of voice acting required depends entirely on the final script. So it entirely depends on what should be voiced. With the recording to happen after the final script has been finished, around halfway through development.

To audition you agree that if you are chosen and hired as a voice actor, you offer the full rights to the audio you create for Dizzy Hearts and studio Lupiesoft, and the offer to acquire audition audio at $2/per line.

All audio produced will be for PG13 only and will contain no mature or adult content, mature material or pornographic material. But will contain scenes of romantic involvement and potentially adult language.

To audition email me a lossless audio file of you voicing dialogue from the script below. You can audition for any of the characters and voice as much or as little as you want.

> VA Audition Script <

I'm looking for:

  • Quality of recording.
Use of a high quality microphone free of background noise and clear audio.
  • Familiarity with the characters.
            Capturing their mood and character.
  • Natural sounding voices.
Voices that sound natural in english and not too "pretend Japanese" dubbed.
I endeavor to make the writing sound natural when spoken.
So it's important to have the voice-acting sound natural as possible, while also matching the characters.

You can audition as many times as you want.

Part one of auditions will begin March 22nd, and end April 3rd. On April 3rd I will be emailing VAs that have passed part one, for part two of the audition, which involves sending you private information on the characters not available to the public. That way you're more able to get a deeper understanding of the character.

Part two will last until April 22nd and then I will select two VAs for Mercilia and Seriva, and announce them on my website with included sample audio on my website.

Good luck everyone!
